A little bit of even more dogma music

The Raveonettes had a set of rules when it came to creating material. These rules consisted of making an album entirely in Bb minor, surrounded by only three chords, and each song had to be less than three minutes long. Ride cymbals were not allowed, either.

Those are pretty much the limitations most Rock bands place on themselves, anyway. Alright, these might be slightly narrower than usual, maybe, but the orthodoxy of Rock music (ABABCBB structures, three to five chords per song, 4/4 beats, Blues-based harmonies/melodies, no tunes over 5 minutes) is already an incredibly limiting template, any deviation from which will see you castigated as “pretentious” or “insincere”.
