1.7 km high buildings
Skyscraperpage.com has diagrams of any high building imaginable. And unimaginable. The X-Seed 4000 vision for Tokyo outskirts reaches 4 kilometers in the Japanese sky.
That’s 44,444 iPods on top of each other. I like that thought.

Excellent link – at last the sham that is the Petronas Towers is exposed. They are clearly ONLY considered the worlds largest structure because they count the spire over the building whereas other buildings don’t.
I’m glad to say I’ve been in the two that are actually tallest – The CN tower and the Sears Tower.
Intesting also that the architect Cliff Tan seems to have cornered the extremely tall buildings market having built both the CN, Petronas, and Jin Mao towers as well as 2 Intl. Finance Centre
