“Look mom”, Flash 8 to end touch interfaces?
Saturday, August 27th, 2005In his endless quest to convince me that Flash is better than food, sleep and slow sunset walks by any pier, Tony is spamming me with the wonders of the new Flash 8. Sure, it has realtime motion blur and shadows, but the coolest thing? You’re can interact with objects in the Flash movie using nothing but thin air (or thick, depending on your altitude). No touching, just webcam.
An interactive piano (for webcam)
Blow into your microphone to pop soap bobbles
Drag light source, see realtime drop-shadow
Star your own retro music video
Quicktime: Realtime interaction with virtual living room snow
A heavy competition to Sony’s eyeToy (example here (quicktime), and, hopefully, full websites with Minority Report interface.
